CAREER OPPORTUNITY

The Pharmacy Operations Manager (POM) is responsible for pharmacy development operations for MWV Healthcare’s new pharmacy venture, a prescription fulfillment service utilizing MWV’s proprietary packaging. MWV’s new, innovative, pharmacy and systems-based business model provides packaging solutions designed to improve medication adherence and reduce medication error and regimen complexity. Regarding regulatory issues, the POM will interact internally with the corporate Regulatory Affairs function and externally with various regulatory authorities and pharmacy organization and health care industry groups. The POM will educate pharmacy stakeholders about the benefits of MWV pharmacy services and will initially work with a licensed, local pharmacy to build and scale up the MWV pharmacy packaging service. This position will directly support advanced patient care through a unique program designed to provide greater patient regimen adherence and patient ease of use.

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT MWV

  • Successful pilot and commercial launch of new MWV pharmacy packaging service initially in Virginia and growing to a targeted five states within the first year of operation.
  • Development of joint partnership with local pharmacy and external pharmacy and health care organizations and associations resulting in long-term success and market recognition for MWV.
  • Manage project budgets, drive regulatory compliance and foster strong relationship with boards of pharmacy and other healthcare regulatory organizations.
  • This position will be responsible for leading cross functional teams, and will likely have 2-3 employees in a direct reporting relationship to be developed over time.
  • Oversee scaled roll-out of business plan, validating, implementing and ensuring success of key activities of new pharmacy business model.
  • Serve as primary pharmacist representative for MWV with key pharmacy partner, regulatory authorities, pharmacy organizations, and the health care industry
  • Oversee supplier, reimbursement and health insurance economics for MWV pharmacy entity.
  • Develop, adjust and maintain working pharmacy operations plan (SOPs) for new, scaled prescription pharmacy service.
  • Establish and monitor project metrics in compliance with existing regulatory and health care industry standards and in conjunction with the state Boards of Pharmacy.
  • Document key educational and learning modules for the project, in order to educate internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Prepare and give updates to senior management on project.
  • Liaise with Regulatory Affairs / Counsel on legal and regulatory considerations.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm D desired
  • MBA, Masters in Public Health or other advanced healthcare degree preferred
  • ASHP Accredited Pharmacy residency experience or Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist or other advanced training preferred
  • Registered pharmacist in the state of Virginia
  • 5+ years pharmacy practice experience
  • Central fill pharmacy experience and/or knowledge base desired
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience desired
  • Pharmacy management experience desired
  • Pharmacy regulatory experience preferred
  • Possess overall pharmacy business knowledge in order to recognize and fully understand the impact of key economic and market drivers required for successful project implementation
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and present to all levels of the MWV organization and to external customers
  • Ability to effectively manage high level of detail
  • Ability to solve frequent and unique problems requiring creativity and judgment
  • High level of PC based skills including presentations, project management, spreadsheets, etc.
